After months of planning our second installment of The Supperclub Sessions, we finally came together on Friday 26th July @ Trove Ancoats to celebrate an evening filled with food, music and laughter. We had only recently survived one of the hottest summers on record, the air was still heavy with rain and the air conditioning had broken down due to last week's power surge..but hey! We pushed on through and had one of the most amazing feedback to date!
"This is a collaboration to watch as they offer a new perspective on the dining and networking experience" - Georgina Saunders
After months of trawling and surveying countless potential restaurants and spaces, we finally came across Trove, a little bakery-turned-eatery situated in the Northern Quarter. One of the reasons we loved working with these guys straight away was due to their forward-thinking attitude when it came to allowing small businesses like ourselves to curate something special on Sundays (yes they have other supperclubs too, check them out!). We got lucky! Most spots we found either would't allow us to use their kitchens or stipulated that we must use their menu (ironic, right?)
We understand that supper clubs are somewhat of a new idea, traditionally often ran by home cooks in the comfort of their homes, but there is definitely space for the in-betweeners like ourselves who are neither professional chefs nor your average home-cook!
Our sold out event saw a full house mingle the evening away in a concoction of soulful live music from @drew_archie, an acoustic rendition of garage classics from @_olares_ and @flashsampson91 hands on the DJ decks - it was a sensation for the senses all round! Huge thank you to @blackstone_visuals for working the video camera and @csylsy.lens for caputuring the magic.
"You will continue to find that an infusion of flavours from around the world is at the heart of the Ramen & Sazeracs DNA, a signature style that really emphasises Dianna's passion for food as well as her drive to create an environment in which everyone is welcome and included."
A huge thank you to the 40+ paying customers who took a chance on us and bought tickets! We sincerely appreciate all the support and love, we hope you had a great time and enjoyed the food and festivities.
Ramen and Sazeracs would also like to say a huge thank you to our collaborators, BIG PPL MUSIC who have been at the forefront of Mancunian talent and were the entertainment providers on the night. Specifically Tunde and Sasha, who put in time, effort, sweat and tears to host and manage the front of house.
Stay tuned for our next event, we are always trying to learn and improve our experiences and will certainly come back bigger and better than the last one!
